Little Spanish Pleasures – Tapas & Pintxos (small plates)

NOTE: This class was moved from Wed 4/22. 

Tapas and Pintxo are served on “small plates”, but they’re definitely not small in flavor! They’re known for being individual plates of powerfully flavored foods. 

It is custom to serve several of these snack-size plates throughout an evening to encourage conviviality and dining over a longer period of time. Of course, there’s usually a tasty cocktail to help wash them down, so we’ll start our evening with a cool Sangria. Sounds like a party to me!

Culinary instructor and our lead instructor, Chef Jill Garcia Schmidt, has a passion for Spanish and Latin cuisine and is eager to teach a few of her “small plate” favorites with you.  You’ll get to help Chef with some of the cooking activities as you learn to prepare Chorizo Tortilla Espagnola con Salsa Romesca (so good!), Roasted Olives with Rosemary, Orange & Chiles, Shrimp al Ajillo (shrimp in a toasted garlic sauce), an interesting Fritter dish, Patatas Bravas and more.  

You’ll be dancing the flamenco with your cooking buddies by the end of the fun evening. Ole!

NOTE:  Unless otherwise noted, each evening class fee includes one glass of beer/wine, with additional beverages available at a nominal cost. 

NOTE: For Onsite Classes,when you arrive, please check in with our Class Assistant who will give you information as to where you will be seated.  We will be arranging our classrooms to allow for social distancing.  If you are planning to sit next to someone else attending the class, we would suggest arriving at least 20 minutes prior to the start time of the class so that we can address that request.  Both students would need to be comfortable with the request to be seated together.
