Italy has one of the world’s richest and most varied cuisines as a result of its many regions. Their sauces are hearty and reflect the rich heritage of this satisfying ethnic cuisine, and they play a key role in creating the perfect accompaniment for Italian dishes.
This morning, you’ll become the “Boss of Italian Sauce” as you learn from professional “saucier” Chef Gary Hild. Once these simple sauces are mastered, your cooking repertoire goes to a whole new level. Chef Gary has an easy-to-understand teaching style, and is eager to share essential sauce-making tips and culinary techniques such as basic knife skills, whisking, and more as he shows you how to create lovely authentic Italian sauces.
You’ll learn the classic Marinara, a robust and versatile sauce that is essential to master, and used as a base to many Italian dishes; Bolognese, the traditional hearty meat sauce; the popular creamy Alfredo, and a light Pesto made from crushed herbs and garlic.
As a bonus, Chef Gary will show you how to use a couple of the sauces to create beautiful pasta dishes like Linguine with Italian Sausage in Gorgonzola Sauce and Spaghetti alla Carbonara. Plus, you’ll get to tie on an apron and work alongside Chef to prepare a few of today’s recipes.
