Gluten-Free Cooking 101 with Chef Gary
Some people think that living a gluten-free lifestyle means sacrificing flavor. That is simply not true, and, to prove it, healthy cooking expert, and popular CCKC instructor, Chef Gary Hild, is in our kitchen armed with a flavor-filled gluten-free menu guaranteed to please even the most skeptical palate. (Pssst! If you don’t tell ‘em these are gluten-free dishes, they probably won’t know!)
This evening Chef Gary will show you how to use REAL gluten-free food to excite your palate, heal your body and nourish your soul! He's helped thousands of students learn to create restaurant quality cuisine using only pure, healing ingredients. He's a firm believer that healthy cooking and plant-based meals are nothing short of culinary medicine.
In this informative class, Chef Gary will teach essential culinary techniques as he covers basics like gluten-free flour, brown rice, and almond and coconut flours, as well as sauce reductions and the use of cornstarch, plus a lesson how legumes and even tofu are used as thickeners. I’m tellin’ you....this class is jam packed with loads of great gluten-free cooking information.
And that’s not all, Chef Gary will also show you his tips and secrets to creating a flavorful gluten-free menu: Pressed Chicken Thighs with a beautiful Roasted Red Pepper Sauce, Savory Lentil Soup, sure to become your new go-to soup recipe, and Salmon with Strawberry and Kiwi (yum!). He’ll end with a fantastic Almond and Orange Flourless Cake to satisfy your sweet tooth. Wow.
You’ll be in good hands with Chef Gary as your teacher – he breaks the recipes down in bite-size, easy-to-understand morsels – and explains everything so well that even the most inexperienced cook will walk away with much gained insight and the confidence to recreate these dishes at home. Please be advised that our kitchens work with gluten flours and other ingredients so this class would not be suitable for someone who cannot be in the same room/area where gluten is handled.
