Simple French Home Cooking
There is no need to be intimidated by fancy French names or recipes. In this class, you will learn what it means to cook French, including some of the basic techniques of French cuisine such a learning a gastrique, how to work with puff pastry, and more.
Seasoned culinary instructor, Chef Gary Hild, will take you through recipes on a step-by-step basis in his easy-going and informative teaching style so that you’ll be able to recreate them at home.
At the heart of French cooking is a deep appreciation for food and the methods of preparation. Tonight you will have the time and a little professional help as you work alongside Chef Gary and help with some of the cooking.
By the end of the evening you will know how to prepare a deliciously, simple French meal as you learn Chicken Coq a Vin, a classic dish with a beautiful red wine sauce, and Rice Pilaf, Next, comes a lesson on Mushroom Duxelle as Chef Gary shows you how to make Salmon in Puff Pastry with a fresh Basil sauce.
We’ll round out our fantastic meal with Ratatouille, a colorful vegetable dish, and end with a fancy, yet simple, Cherries Jubilee, for dessert.
