'Up Close & Personal’ Cooking Lessons with Chef Jill:  A Gourmet California-Style Seafood Dinner

Join us for a special up-close-&-personal limited-enrollment class, where you’ll get what you have always dreamed of… a delicious seafood dinner along with awesome lessons in cooking like a rock star from our own CCKC Executive Chef, Jill Garcia Schmidt. 

She’s excited to share her deep culinary experience, and you’ll be amazed as she shows off her mad skills while divulging some of her favorite tips and teaching you to whip up a gourmet seafood meal with a California influence.

Tonight’s recipes will take your cooking repertoire to another level as Chef teaches essential culinary techniques like knife skills, whisking, searing, sauce-making and more.

Our gourmet feast starts off with Coastal Prawns with Citrus Butter and Red Chiles as tasty appetizers, and follows it up with a fresh Tomato and Watermelon Salad. Then we’ll dive right into the water as Chef teaches techniques for cooking fancy-schmancy Lobster Tails and serve it with drawn butter for dipping, Pan Seared Scallops with White Wine and Herb Sauce, and Vegetable Rice Pilaf for our perfectly paired side.

For dessert, you’ll help Chef prepare a lovely Meyer Lemon Rosemary Olive Oil Cake – to-die-for!  You’ll get your hands in the cooking action for a few of the other dishes in tonight’s menu as well.  

When we’re finished, we’ll sit down as a group to dine on our seafood masterpieces. And of course, we’ll pair our fabulous dishes with some lovely California wines.

Who says gourmet has to be stuffy?  Let’s go 'under the sea' and have fun together in the kitchen!
