Have you met fresh mozzarella yet? Forget about that supermarket stuff because we’re going to show you how to make fresh cheese - from scratch. It’s not hard to do. And trust us, after you learn how, you’ll be hooked. We’re talking young balls of fresh Mozzarella cheese packed in a watery brine that retains its freshness and moisture.
But wait … there’s more! You’ll also learn to make soft, slightly sweet Ricotta cheese and then how it’s used to create a tasty dish.
Chef Dana Holland is in our kitchen and eager to show you how it’s done. From milk to curds – he’ll cover it all as you try your hand at the cheese-making process.
Then Chef will show you how to use both cheeses in a couple of his favorite Italian recipes - Mozzarella en Carozza (a/k/a fried mozzarella sandwiches), and a delicious Ricotta Strawberry Bombolini that will satisfy your cheese cravings and your sweet tooth.
Of course, there will be tasting… plus, you’ll get to tie on an apron and help Chef Dana with some of the cheesy activities.
