German Heritage Flavors

This intensive, 3-hour, high hands-on Professional Culinary Arts Class™ taught by veteran chef, restaurateur, and longtime CCKC culinary instructor, Chef Richard McPeake will explore authentic German cuisine.

Germany is known for its foods that are loaded with flavor and rich in tradition. They broil, sauté or braise smaller pieces of meat, and large pieces of meat are either braised or roasted. Often, they marinade tough cuts of meats in buttermilk, wine, beer or vinegar.

In this informative class, we’ll use all of these methods in class, plus learn essential culinary techniques such as knife skills, sautéing, how to use a spatzle pot, and more as we learn to prepare dishes such as Weiner Schnitzel, Homemade Spaetzle, Blaukraut (Braised Sweet & Sour Red Cabbage) and Fresh Apple Strudel using phyllo dough.

And that’s not all… as a bonus, we’ll pair wines that you’ll get to taste along with the dishes we make.
