Mama Mia! It’s A Handmade Pizza Party!
Join us tonight for an interactive full-on pizza party with CCKC Executive Chef Jill Garcia Schmidt.
Techniques and great recipes will flow as you get your “scratch cooking” hat on and learn to make homemade pizza dough from scratch and some tasty topping ideas.
Chef Jill will start off with an interesting discussion of the birthplace, history and evolution of pizza. Then, it’s time to put your pizza apron on and get to work because you're gonna get your hands in the flour as you learn to make pizza dough for a Traditional Pizza Crust and then use it to create Margherita, NY Style and Sicilian-style pizza's that include fresh ingredients like basil, prosciutto, figs (hey, don’t knock it til you’ve tried it!), roasted eggplant and fresh cheese such as mozzarella, ricotta and pecorino. Chef will also teach a vegetarian-style pizza crust that's really good!
To end our pizza party, you’ll use some of your fresh-made pizza dough to create Zeppole – addictive tiny doughnuts you’ll enjoy with homemade dipping sauces. Fuggedabboudit!
Come for the pizza, stay for the fun, and while you’re at it, kiss the pizza delivery boy goodbye because you're making it in your own kitchen now!
