Sushi 101 (Class Added on 11/26)
NOTE: Another class has been added on Tue 11/26. Please visit that date on the calendar to register. Thank you!
Sushi always delivers on flavor and fun, so let’s get our sushi on!
Chef Cynthia Samsel will instruct this wildly popular class as she teaches us the fundamental skills needed to make the basic types of rolls. Chef will also teach the basics about sushi rice, the ingredients used with sushi such as wasabi, pickled ginger, how to safely store fish, where and how to buy sushi grade fish, and more. We’ll also learn hand-rolling techniques and presentation of our sushi!
You’ll get to try your hand at making sushi as well and you’ll taste several types of sushi like Nori Maki Sushi (fresh tuna & vegetable rolls), Sushi (hand roll-smoked Salmon, cream cheese and cucumber), and Inside-Out Maki California Roll (shrimp and avocado) and more.
Now you can finally make sushi in YOUR kitchen! You’re crazy if you think you can’t do it yourself. Oishii! (That means “yummy” in Japanese)
Note: This is a basic skills class for beginners.
