Grates & Grapes- Let’s Dare To Pair Wines With BBQ

There is something about barbequing… the outdoor setting, the primal pleasure of an open fire, and the masculine image of the grill that, for too many people, says “beer” or “margarita.” However, wine can be the perfect accompaniment to a BBQ, and it’s not as filling nor as potentially embarrassing as multiple margaritas!

BBQ’s distinct flavor profile is the subject of tonight’s interactive food and wine pairing class. We just happen to have award-winning BBQ’r & career beverage expert Bruce Campbell in the house to lead us through this adventure.  He will pair wine with each course and explain why they work well together. 

You'll be greeted with Smoked Portobello Mushrooms and a Rose from Provence.  Then, you’ll get in on some of the cooking action. 

Our BBQ menu will include dishes such as, a Grilled Caesar Salad paired with a Spanish Albarino (Wait. What?  Did she say a grilled salad?  Yup.) Honey Bourbon Pork Tenderloin, Classic Kansas City-Style Burnt Ends, two side dishes (one a Chipotle Sweet Potato Au Gratin, and the other Cheesy Mexican Corn) paired with a Sparkling wine and a Dry Riesling.  Finally, sip a Sauternes along with his kick- ass Grilled Cake topped with Spicy Pineapple Salsa and fresh whipped cream. 

A great class for wine lovers... it will be Wine-o-licious!
