If French cooking seems unapproachable to you (and you thought that French cuisine was too fancy-schmancy to make at home), take a second look.  It’s really not.

Tonight, we’ll learn and practice some basic French cooking techniques inspired by the renowned Chef Jacques Pepin. Chef Pepin was one of the first celebrity chefs and shared the spotlight in a popular television cooking show with none other than Julia Child.  He was well-known for his knack for simplifying French cooking, which will be our focus for this special class. 

There’s no need to be intimidated by all the fancy French terms and cooking methods. Our own Chef Dana Holland will lead this special French cooking class and will explain as he goes.

Chef Dana spent many years of his career working in French restaurants, and he knows that the heart of French cooking is a deep appreciation for the food and the methods of preparation. It’s all about mastering one technique at a time. Tonight, you’ll have the time, a bit of hands-on practice, and professional help to do just that in this crash course on the art of everyday French cooking. Folks, you’ll find that French cooking is actually do-able.

You’ll practice essential knife skills and learn excellent 'mise en place' tips and tricks that will serve you well anytime you are in the kitchen. My guess is that you’ll also add a French phrase or two to your vocabulary, too!

Our menu is loaded with Chef Pepin-inspired dishes like Ratatouille, Baked Fromage, a fabulous Shrimp Bisque, Pommes Daupinoise and more - all centered around a herbed pork medallion entrée.  

Finally, we’ll end our meal with a chocolate-y decadent dessert you thought you could only order a restaurant (until now!), to add to your cooking repertoire. This fabulous French meal is perfect for a family meal or entertaining guests. 

Who says you can’t cook French food? Not us!
