Street tacos are the heart and soul of Mexico’s diverse cuisine but cultural variations can be found on street corners, well… all over the world!
Walk the streets of any big city in the world and you’ll find authentic tacos being served up to long lines of hungry customers from food trucks and snack wagons And let me tell you, these mini mobile kitchens, trucks and snack wagons have their loyal followers… and for good reason!
Despite the variations from one region to another, street tacos bridge social and economic differences by the mere fact that everyone eats them. But you don’t have to stand on the street to enjoy street tacos. You can make them in your own kitchen!
Tonight, Chef & Lead Instructor Jill Garcia Schmidt will show you how to make several of her favorite versions of these tasty street food treasures such as Carnitas, Chicken Tinga and Carne Asada. You’ll also learn to make Grilled Street Corn (Elote) – a perfect accompaniment to the spicy tacos. She’ll end with Chili Lime Mango, a sweet south-of-the-border dessert.
