Chinese 'Take-Out' Favorites
About once a week, we get Chinese take-out at our house. We love the fresh tastes, crisp crunch and flavorful combinations. Who doesn’t!? Today, it's your chance to learn to make it yourself so you can enjoy it anytime you want!
Chef Dana Holland is an experienced culinary instructor, and, trust us, he knows a thing or two about Asian cooking. He'll teach essential culinary techniques like sauteing, stir-frying, basic knife skills, including dumpling-making techniques as you learn to prepare Beef & Scallion Dumplings, Shrimp Shu Mei, Char Siu (a classic Chinese roast pork that served with rice and steamed buns) and Zink Fried Rice – a simple recipe using…well, everything but the kitchen sink! Finally, he’ll explore the traditional velveting technique in a simple Chicken Stir Fry. Wow… what a menu!
You’ll get to help Chef Dana prepare some of today’s menu and take the recipes home so you will be able to make all your favorite Chinese dishes in your own kitchen. No more take-out for you!
