Cake Decorating: Basic Techniques & Beyond!

In today's 3-hour class, cake decorating expert Rachel Van Stratton, will take your basic decorating skills up a notch, as we explore intermediate techniques.
After a quick review of the basics like the importance of “crumb-coating”, cooling, leveling, prepping, and more, she'll demo making ButtercreamIcing.
Next, it’s all about the decorating as she shows you learn to make basic decorations such as stars, rosettes, and shell border, then move on to intermediate decorating skills that you’ll use to create beautiful flowers, succulents, and more. This informative class has everything you need to know to make your cake decorating a breeze!
It will all come together as you gain some valuable hands-on practice leveling, crumb-coating, icing and the new decorating techniques you’ve learned in class to create your very own mini-cake that you’ll get to take home and show off to your family! (No pre-req classes required)

NOTE: For Onsite Classes,when you arrive, please check in with our Class Assistant who will give you information as to where you will be seated. We will be arranging our classrooms to allow for social distancing. In order to comply with governmental orders and for the protection of our guests and staff, we ask that you wear a mask when here at The Culinary Center of Kansas City. If you are planning to sit next to someone else attending the class, we would suggest arriving at least 20 minutes prior to the start time of the class so that we can address that request.
