(No Longer Available) Cookie Decorating Magic! One Cutter, Many Designs

Join us for a special class with a unique twist that will teach the serious and useful cookie decorating techniques and tips that will have you can making your own colorful and unique cookies like a pro… using just one cookie cutter and some basic decorating skills.  You heard me. 

Our expert instructor, Rachel Van Stratton is a cookie decorator extraordinaire, so you’ll be learning from a very talented cookie artist. She’ll get your imagination flowing as she shows you how to transform one cookie cutter design into many unique and fun cookie designs. 

It will be an informative morning as Rachel shows you how to make a batch of Royal Icing. Then, she’ll show you how to use it as she explores decorating techniques like consistencies, coloring, piping and flooding. You will learn about decorating supplies like tip-less bags and scribe tool used to magically transform a plain cookie into a variety of pretty designs like flowers and more. 

You’ll get to tie on an apron and practice what you’ve learned as you decorate prepared sugar cookies into your own works of art. Don’t worry, she’ll have some sample cookies decorated to show you how it’s done.  

With all the tricks and tips that you'll learn today, you’ll leave class with the confidence and know-how to recreate what you’ve learned at home for any special occasion. 

As a bonus, one of Rachel’s favorite versatile cookie cutters is included with this class. (You’re welcome!) Now you have no excuse for re-creating these cute little gems at home!

NOTE:  Unless otherwise noted, each evening class fee includes one glass of beer/wine, with additional beverages available at a nominal cost.

NOTE: For Onsite Classes,when you arrive, please check in with our Class Assistant who will give you information as to where you will be seated.  We will be arranging our classrooms to allow for social distancing. In order to comply with governmental orders and for the protection of our guests and staff, we ask that you wear a mask when here at The Culinary Center of Kansas City. If you are planning to sit next to someone else attending the class, we would suggest arriving at least 20 minutes prior to the start time of the class so that we can address that request.  Both students would need to be comfortable with the request to be seated together.
