‘Farm To Table’ Cooking Class: The Endless Bounty of Fresh Tomatoes with Chef Richard McPeake
Chefs know how easy it is to be seduced by tables full of colorful, farm-fresh ripe tomatoes, including those gorgeous heirloom varieties, tart green tomatoes, cherry tomatoes and those ubiquitous reds. You want to grab all you can, but sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming and we aren’t sure exactly what to do with them, or how to make the most of them. Don’t worry….Chef Richard has you covered.
Tonight, it’ll be a full “feast of the senses” as we explore the endless bounty of fresh tomatoes you’ll find at local farmers markets in a delicious seasonal cooking class.
Chef Richard McPeake is one of our most popular instructors, so you’ll learn tons of essential cooking methods and techniques along the way as you learn how to make some of his favorite recipes gathered over his 30+ years in the industry as a professional chef.
Let him introduce you to the pure refreshing flavor of Heirloom Tomatoes Served On A Himalayan Pink Salt Plate, Fried Green Tomato & Crabmeat Tower, Fresh Tomato Sauce using Red Heirloom Tomatoes & Fresh Basil served over Tagliatelle, Balsamic Tomatoes with Maple Balsamic Vinaigrette on Asiago Pesto Bruschetta and more.
As he teaches, he’ll also discuss the “best of the best” local markets and how to recognize ripeness by smell and texture.
Transform ho-hum dishes into tomato-liscious beauties! You’ll go home armed with recipes that you can carry straight to your favorite market to pick up treasures, take ‘em home and re-create these amazing recipes.
