This 3-hour cooking class taught by veteran chef, restaurateur and culinary instructor, Chef Richard McPeake, focuses on important culinary skills as you learn all about soups and stocks.
Tonight, we’ll take on the challenge of classic soup and stock techniques as we learn the essentials of how to make various type of stocks… and why we should. We’ll learn how to create and use thickeners and the PROPER method of braising.
The dishes demonstrated tonight include Poached Chicken Bercy, Spatzle in Brown Butter Sauce – made from scratch, Classic French Beef Bourguignon, Soup with Homemade Dumplings and a Classic Cream Soup. And, that’s not all… as a bonus, you’ll we’ll pair wines that you’ll get to taste along with the dishes we make.

NOTE: Unless otherwise noted, each evening class fee includes one glass of beer/wine, with additional beverages available at a nominal cost.
NOTE: For Onsite Classes, when you arrive, please check in with our Class Assistant who will give you information as to where you will be seated. We will be arranging our classrooms to allow for social distancing. In order to comply with governmental orders and for the protection of our guests and staff, we ask that you wear a mask when here at The Culinary Center of Kansas City. If you are planning to sit next to someone else attending the class, we would suggest arriving at least 20 minutes prior to the start time of the class so that we can address that request.
