ONSITE CLASS: The Perfect Apple Pie with Chef Mari Ruck
We are offering you the ability to sit right in our kitchens as Chef Mari teaches the online version of this special class. Yup. You’ll interact with Chef in an intimate kitchen setting but we know why you’re really here…the smells, the “behind the scenes” experience and oh yes… the TASTES! That’s what we thought.
Here’s the class description:
There is nothing in the world like a slice of apple pie. Warm, a la mode, with a slice of cheddar or straight from the fridge as a midnight snack. A truly perfect food. Forget those store-bought pies in a disposable tin; once you’ve learned the basic techniques, the sky’s the limit.
Come join us in our kitchens for a fundamentals baking class in making Mari’s favorite ‘no-fail’ pie crust (that’s right – from scratch!), choosing the right fruit, cooking apples perfectly and balancing the seasonings.
In a nutshell, we’ll learn to make the perfect Apple Pie! Plus, you’ll take home your own mini apple pie to bake, share and savor.

NOTE: For Onsite Classes, when you arrive, please check in with our Class Assistant who will give you information as to where you will be seated. We will be arranging our classrooms to allow for social distancing. In order to comply with governmental orders and for the protection of our guests and staff, we ask that you wear a mask when here at The Culinary Center of Kansas City. If you are planning to sit next to someone else attending the class, we would suggest arriving at least 20 minutes prior to the start time of the class so that we can address that request. Both students would need to be comfortable with the request to be seated together. Thank you!
