Julia & Me: An Evening of Classic French Dishes with CCKC Lead Chef Joshua Rosen

Tonight, we’ll channel the spirit of Julia Child as we walk through a menu that she would have adored. Lead Chef Joshua Rosen actually cooked for Julia Child and has some fascinating stories to share with you.  (Who does that? Cooks for Julia Child!!!) 

Chef Rosen is an accomplished chef with deep culinary experience and an extensive knowledge of international cuisines especially classical French. He studied at the Scottsdale Culinary Institute and went on to chef at some of the finest restaurants in the world including his most recent position as Executive Chef  with Hidden House (Chandler, AZ) which was awarded Best Top 10 Restaurants under his leadership. 

In 2015, when Chef was here in KC, he worked under Chef Carl Thorne-Thomsen as Chef de Partie at Story Restaurant.  So, you see… tonight is going to be special. 

We’ll start our welcome celebratory cooking class with a glass of French wine and an amuse bouche (a little “gift from the chef”) that will take the form of a clever ‘take’ on Vichyssoise.  Next in this Francophile’s lineup will be Salad Nicoise, and the one and only Coq Au Vin, both perfectly paired with wine. Yes, our menu will include a sweet dessert.  How could we not!

NOTE: For Onsite Classes,when you arrive, please check in with our Class Assistant who will give you information as to where you will be seated.  We will be arranging our classrooms to allow for social distancing. In order to comply with governmental orders and for the protection of our guests and staff, we ask that you wear a mask when here at The Culinary Center of Kansas City. If you are planning to sit next to someone else attending the class, we would suggest arriving at least 20 minutes prior to the start time of the class so that we can address that request.  Both students would need to be comfortable with the request to be seated together.
