(No Longer Available) ‘Little Slice of Normal’ Dining Experience: BIG NIGHT Dinner

One of the greatest foodie movies of all time, 'Big Night' is the story of two brothers, recent immigrants to America, who, in an effort to save their authentic New Jersey restaurant from a rival Italian restaurant, put on an evening of incredible, authentic Italian food and music.

Join us as we go beyond the movie set, taking you back to the land crisscrossed by mountains, bordered by seas, drenched by sun, and forever enriched by the genius of da Vinci, Michelangelo, Puccini, Sinatra, Bocceli and Louis Prima. 

Your senses will be spellbound as our own CCKC  family chefs re-create this famous meal, right down to the moment in the movie where the cult Italian dish known as Timpano, (layers of sausage, ragu, eggs and pasta sealed in a pastry dough) is pulled from the oven, flipped over and sliced, all to the applause of the audience of diners.

It’s a foodie movie for sure, but it is so much more. It is about the food and music of Italy not as a subject, but as a language by which one can speak to the gods, seduce and inspire emotion. We promise not only an authentic experience as close to the movie as we can get right down to the Louis Prima music and extra-long tables dressed in white linens. The Italian wine will flow on what is sure to be one Big Night to savor and one great big 'Little Slice of Normal'.

NOTE:  Unless otherwise noted, each evening class fee includes one glass of beer/wine with additional beverages available at a nominal cost.

NOTE: For Onsite Classes,when you arrive, please check in with our Class Assistant who will give you information as to where you will be seated.  We will be arranging our classrooms to allow for social distancing. In order to comply with governmental orders and for the protection of our guests and staff, we ask that you wear a mask when here at The Culinary Center of Kansas City. If you are planning to sit next to someone else attending the class, we would suggest arriving at least 20 minutes prior to the start time of the class so that we can address that request.  Both students would need to be comfortable with the request to be seated together.
