Legendary Kansas City Restaurant Cuisine with Chef Richard McPeake
Tonight is your chance to go back and experience some of Kansas City’s famous dishes you thought were gone forever. Let’s dive deep into local culinary history in this limited-enrollment cooking class where you’ll get the chance to go behind the scenes and into the world of a seasoned culinary pro.
Chef Richard is the chef who designed the menus and dishes themselves for the original Plaza III, Fedora and The Bristol on the Country Club Plaza, among many other legendary restaurants. That’s right, we’ll dish up some memories by way of a unique dinner experience highlighting legendary local restaurants that helped change the fine dining experience in Kansas City.
To take this special dining experience into the realm of extraordinary, Chef McPeake will show you how to prepare these treasured dishes as he brings back classics from restaurant legends starting with Plaza III’s Award-Winning Steak Soup.
The Bristol Bar & Grill received accolades including the Silver Spoon and Top Restaurant awards under Chef Richard’s guidance due to incredible recipes like a Sliced Tomato & Sweet Red Onion Salad with Black Pepper Vinaigrette and Pan Sautéed Lemon Sole with Lemon Parsley Butter.
With Chef Richard at the helm, Fedora was celebrated as one of the Top 10 Bistros in America, and it’s easy to see why with dishes like tonight’s Pan Sautéed Chicken Saltimbocca with Sage Glaze and Sautéed Spaghetti Squash. Chef will feature Fedora’s Blue-Ribbon Award-Winning Decorated Chocolate Truffle Cake for our fabulous dessert.
We hope you’ll join us for this unique evening of excellent cuisine, fond food memories and a fabulous culinary experience as Chef Richard regales us with stories that only he knows and insights to how these dishes came about at these legendary restaurants.
