Viva Mexico! A Homestyle Mexican Fiesta with Chef Jill Garcia Schmidt

Let the fiesta begin! You don’t have to go out to enjoy authentic Mexican cuisine. Tonight, you’ll garner some fabulous new culinary techniques and learn to make some delicious Mexican dishes so you can host your own fiesta at home, anytime you want!

Expect fresh ingredients, fiesta-infused flavors and delectable presentation as our own Chef & Lead Instructor Jill Garcia Schmidt shows you how it’s done. Mexican cuisine is her specialty, so you’re in for a real-deal treat that will make palette scream “Ole!” as it explodes with the bold and exciting flavors of these tasty dishes.

Chef Jill will explore dishes like Mini Ceviche Tostadas topped with a cool Watermelon Radish Pico, Baja Fish Tacos - grilled fish fillets marinated in lime, garlic and chiles in corn tortillas with Mango Avocado Salsa, Black Beans and Corn Rice.  

For dessert, she will pull out all the stops with a delicious Margarita Sorbet. No fiesta is complete without cocktails, so you’ll enjoy a CCKC Signature Margarita to toast our Mexican celebration! Mucho good!

Wear your comfortable party (and kitchen) clothes, and your sombrero, if you dare! Come join in on the Mexican Fiesta cooking fun! A great way to unwind on a Saturday night.

NOTE: For Onsite Classes,when you arrive, please check in with our Class Assistant who will give you information as to where you will be seated.  We will be arranging our classrooms to allow for social distancing. In order to comply with governmental orders and for the protection of our guests and staff, we ask that you wear a mask when here at The Culinary Center of Kansas City. If you are planning to sit next to someone else attending the class, we would suggest arriving at least 20 minutes prior to the start time of the class so that we can address that request.  Both students would need to be comfortable with the request to be seated together.
