A Taste of Peru with Chef Mari Ruck
Peru’s unusual regions and climates make its interesting cuisine incredibly diverse. Longtime CCKC culinary instructor Chef Mari Ruck knows her way around Peruvian cooking and is eager to teach some of her favorite recipes in tonight’s class.
As the locals go, then so shall we as we get things started with a Pisco Sour - a popular cocktail that Peruvians enjoy at the beginning of their evening meals to stimulate appetite.
Then, Chef Mari will take you on a culinary journey across this beautiful country steeped in history and flavor as she teaches essential culinary techniques while starting the class with a lesson on preparing a delicious Quinoa Potato and Corn Soup (perfect all year round). But first we’ll learn a unique appetizer called Causa… a what? Think stacked mashed potatoes. (Oh yeah, it's possible, trust us).
For our outstanding entree, you’ll learn to prepare Lime-Spiked Salmon with Roasted Sweet Potatoes- a Peruvian classic that will knock your Peruvian-made socks off!
You’ll get to help Chef Mari with some of the cooking activities too. Wow, what a great way to cap off your weekend!
