Cooking Thai At Home featuring Panang Curry with Chef Jill Garcia Schmidt
Harmonizing primary flavors lies at the heart of Thai cooking. While this cuisine is known for its spicy hot peppers, it is a misconception that all Thai food is hot.
A typical Thai meal will contain dishes that touch all the primary flavors – salty, sweet, spicy (hot), and sour – something to touch and delight every taste bud. By learning what flavor balance a dish should contain and how to attain that balance, you can create authentic Thai tastes with or without a recipe.
Tonight Chef & Lead Instructor Jill Garcia Schmidt is eager to teach you some fundamentals of cooking Thai cuisine. We’ll learn as we prepare Thai favorites like Pad Gapow, a crispy fried shrimp dish, Panang Curry, Fried Bananas with Coconut Ice Cream for a sweet ending, and more. Plus, you’ll get to help Chef prepare some of tonight’s flavorful dishes.
Get ready to explore a most interesting way of cooking with a culinary pro.
