(No Longer Available) Portugal, The Beautiful! A Food & Wine Pairing Experience with Chef Mari Ruck

If you’ve never experienced Portuguese cuisine, then tonight is the night to cross that off your bucket list! Join us in a culinary journey to the ancient rustic neighborhoods of Lisbon, as well as the Portuguese region of Alentejo, and discover authentic Portuguese dishes that will entice your taste buds.
Your experienced instructor, Chef Mari Ruck, will lead you through a classic menu that includes the sausages, spices and pastry indicative of Portuguese cuisine. Her expert cooking skills will be on display as she teaches basic culinary techniques while showing you how to prepare our delicious meal – from start to finish.
She’ll lead things off with a savory Portuguese appetizer. Next up, a flavorful Sopa de Couvre (cauliflower soup) and then move on to tonight’s flavorful entrée – Portuguese Stew with Linguica Sausage & Chicken. We’ll end our feast with the famous Pastiés de Nata – a traditional creamy custard tart.
It wouldn’t be a Portuguese dinner without wine, and Chef Mari has got you covered with a few of her favorites - Vino Verde and a light red wine that you‘ll taste with your dinner, plus a lovely port that pairs perfectly with dessert.
Your first Portuguese word to learn for this class is “Obrigados!” which means “thank you”… and that is exactly what you’ll be telling Chef Mari at the end of this beautiful Sunday evening.

We will be arranging our classrooms to allow for social distancing. If you are planning to sit next to someone else attending the class, we would suggest arriving at least 20 minutes prior to the start time of the class so that we can address that request.
