Taco Loco! A Mexican Street Food Cooking Party

Looking for something fun to celebrate the 4th of July weekend! We've got the answer! Grab a group of friends or plan a special date night with your honey - and join us for a [street] party in our kitchens tonight!! And not just any street party.......a Street Taco Party!

Street tacos are the heart and soul of Mexico’s diverse cuisine, but cultural variations can be found on street corners, well … all over the world!  But you don’t have to stand on the street to enjoy street tacos. You can make them in your own kitchen! 

Tonight, one of our most popular instructors, Chef & Lead Instructor Jill Garcia Schmidt will show you how to make several of her favorite versions of these tasty street food treasures. Chef Jill is obsessed with teaching students how to cook Mexican cuisine.  Literally....it's one of her favorite things to do! She's got a teaching style that's super easy to understand....oh, and she's bring tons of fun to her cooking classes too! 

She'll teach essential culinary techniques while showing you how to make street taco variations like Carnitas, Chicken Tinga and Carne Asada. You’ll also learn to make Grilled Street Corn (Elote) – a perfect accompaniment to the spicy tacos. We’ll end with a sweet south-of-the-border dessert.  Don’t worry…there will be plenty of napkins and lots of cooking fun!

NOTE: For Onsite Classes, when you arrive, please check in with our Class Assistant who will give you information as to where you will be seated.  We will be arranging our classrooms to allow for social distancing. In order to comply with governmental orders and for the protection of our guests and staff, we ask that you wear a mask when here at The Culinary Center of Kansas City. If you are planning to sit next to someone else attending the class, we would suggest arriving at least 20 minutes prior to the start time of the class so that we can address that request.  Both students would need to be comfortable with the request to be seated together.
