Winemaker’s Dinner featuring Bill Grassie, William Grassie Wine Estates (Woodinville, WA)
Join us for a special Winemaker’s Dinner with Bill Grassie, founder and vintner, of William Grassie Wine Estates (Woodinville, WA).
Bill moved from Kansas City to Seattle in 2006 to embark upon his vision to create world-class wines, including premier Bordeaux style wines. His passion for gardening led him to plant a vineyard on a bare patch of ground at his new Washington property which ultimately led to the creation of his first vintage in 2011.
Today William Grassie Wine Estates produces acclaimed wines that fall into that coveted 90+ rating by Wine Spectator. This passionate winemaker will be in our kitchens tonight sharing some of his favorite wines as well as educating us about Washington State wines and wineries.
To highlight these wines, Chef Brandon Winn (Webster House, Room 39) has crafted a 5-course menu that not only spotlights the wines but also features dishes inspired by Washington wine country and its rich culinary resources.
Savor dishes like Grilled Salmon with Beurre Rouge, Smoked Apple, Watercress & Prosciutto; Braised Beef Croquette with Crab, Leeks & Brown Butter; and other innovative dishes from this consummate professional up-and-coming chef.
This evening will be magic as we learn about the relatively young and highly experimental Washington State wine region which grows dozens of grape varietals and produces wines, over 45% of which are rated over 90 points by Wine Spectator. An incredible statistic and reason to celebrate Washington State wines.
