Join us for a fabulous night in our kitchen as we learn to make delicious Thai food. Harmonizing primary flavors lies at the heart of Thai cooking.

While this cuisine is known for its spicy hot peppers, it is a misconception that all Thai food is hot.  A typical Thai meal will contain dishes that touch all the primary flavors – salty, sweet, spicy (hot), and sour – something to touch and delight every taste bud.  By learning what flavor balance a dish should contain and how to attain that balance, you can create authentic Thai tastes with or without a recipe.

Tonight, Chef & Lead Instructor Jill Garcia Schmidt is eager to teach you some fundamentals of cooking Thai cuisine.  We’ll learn as we prepare Thai favorites such as a yummy shrimp dish, Pad Gapow, classic Panang Curry, Fried Bananas with Coconut Ice Cream for a sweet ending, and more.

Yes, you’ll get to help Chef prepare some of tonight’s flavorful dishes. And, yes, you’ll leave with all the recipes….we wouldn’t have it any other way!  Get ready to explore a most interesting way of cooking with a culinary pro.

In order to comply with governmental orders and for the protection of our guests and staff, we ask that you wear a mask when here at The Culinary Center of Kansas City. If you are planning to sit next to someone else attending the class, we would suggest arriving at least 20 minutes prior to the start time of the class so that we can address that request.  Both students would need to be comfortable with the request to be seated together.
