(No Longer Available) Fried & True: Old-Fashioned Skillet-Fried Chicken Dinner

We love homemade comfort food, and nothing is more comforting that a fried chicken dinner – just like grandma used to make. This down-home cuisine is highly flavorful and craved by everyone.

And when it comes to cooking this tasty meal, the best way to achieve perfection, is with a cast iron skillet. And when it comes to teaching us how to use it, there’s nobody better suited for the job than one of our most popular instructors, Chef Richard McPeake.

Tonight, he’ll teach essential culinary techniques while walking you through the steps to make the best pan-fried chicken, using a cast-iron skillet to achieve the crispiest, most flavorful crunchy outside with moist and juicy meat on the inside. Seriously, there's no better way to cook it.

Richard has a real knack for taking the foods you know and love and spinnin’ them for a bit of a surprise, a little bit of “wow,” and a little “somethin” extra. Prepare yourself for some culinary magic as he puts his twist on classic southern Sunday supper accompaniments like wicked good Ole’ Smashed Sour Cream Potatoes, Mama's Pea & Cheese Salad and finally, a Caramelized Apple Jack Brandy Apples Ice Cream Sundae (including a special sauce with a “kick”) to satisfy your sweet tooth.   You’ll even get to help with some of the cooking activities as Chef Richard teaches this comforting family-favorite meal.
