Dinner In Tokyo With Executive Chef Matt Chatfield

Join us for a very special evening as we welcome Chef Matt Chatfield back to our teaching kitchens.

If his name sounds familiar it’s for good reason. Chef Matt spent over 7 years our Executive Chef and taught hundreds of cooking classes during his tenure at The Culinary Center of Kansas City.  We are thrilled that he’s back in ‘da house to share his incredible culinary talents and impress you once again with a lesson on authentic Japanese cuisine.

Few of us can resist the fabulous dishes found at Japanese restaurants and the best way to learn how to create authentic dishes is under the tutelage of a chef with a real passion for Japanese food and culture.

Chef Matt is a dynamic professional with  impressive culinary skills that will be on full display as he explores Japanese methods and presentation while teaching some of his favorite recipes.

You’ll be greeted with a Japanese beer and learn to make that iconic ginger salad dressing and a soup, both of which are traditionally served in Japanese steak houses.  Then it’s on to an amazing Teriyaki seafood entrée that will blow you away. You’ll also explore the importance of premium ingredients, rolling techniques and more as you learn to make amazing sushi rolls.  And, for dessert, you’ll be treated to a unique Japanese cake with a surprise ingredient.

Not to worry, you’ll get to tie on an apron and assist with some of tonight’s prepping and cooking activities next to this engaging professional. We’ll end our feast with a Saki toast as we enjoy the fabulous Japanese dinner you’ve helped to prepare!
