A Tasty Chinese New Year Celebration

Class Description: 

Join us as we ring in the Chinese New Year with a fun and interactive cooking class featuring authentic Chinese dishes.  Chef & Lead Instructor Jill Garcia Schmidt is excited to teach this special class and has designed a flavorful menu centered around the traditional foods that are enjoyed during this popular Asian holiday. 

Chef Jill has a passion for teaching Asian cuisine, so you're in luck as shows off her mad cooking skills while teaching fundamental culinary techniques such as knife skills, dumpling-making tips, and more while leading you through this celebratory meal.

You’ll get in on some of the cooking action as you help make Shrimp and Pork Potstickers (Did you know that Chinese families traditionally spend New Year’s Eve making these tasty dumplings so that they eat them at midnight to “roll out the new year? Now you can, too!) Then Chef Jill will round out the meal as she prepares a savory chicken dish, fried rice, and ends with Good Luck Almond Cookies – the perfect way to cap off our Chinese New Year cooking party.

As always, you’ll taste everything taught in class and leave with the recipes so you can recreate these tasty dishes at home.

NOTE:  Unless otherwise noted, each evening class fee includes one glass of beer/wine, with additional beverages available at a nominal cost.
