Julia & Me: Learn Iconic French Dishes

Class Description:
Julia Child brought the art of French cooking to the United States and did it by mastering one technique at a time. If you want to cook like her, you’ll need to learn to do that, too.
Chef & Lead Instructor Jill Garcia Schmidt is an experienced culinary pro and she’s eager to prove that there’s no need to be intimidated by all the fancy French terms and cooking methods. With Chef Jill leading the way with her easy-to-understand teaching style, you’ll find that French cooking is actually doable.
She’ll teach essential culinary techniques and excellent mise en place tips and tricks that will serve you well anytime you are in the kitchen. My guess is that you’ll also add a French phrase or two to your vocabulary! In fact, there’s a very good chance Chef Jill will channel the famous chef using her best ‘Julia’ impression while she teaches tonight’s fabulous French dishes. What fun!
Our classic menu includes Pissaladier (homemade flatbread with savory toppings), Pommes de Terre a L’Huile (aka French potato salad), and, of course, Julia’s signature Boeuf Bourguignon – a savory beef stew will knock your socks off!. We'll end with a lovely French dessert.
By the end of this fun French cooking class, you’ll be a regular “Ratatouille”! Julia would be so proud….and so will you!
NOTE: Unless otherwise noted, each evening class fee includes one glass of beer/wine, with additional beverages available at a nominal cost.
