Class Description: 

For more than a century, delighted diners, from accidental tourists to midnight habitués, have enjoyed some of the best French cuisine in the neighborhood bistros of Paris.   Over bowls of savory ragout, platters of tempting coq au vin, and glasses of regional wine, customers have shared the warm and lively bistro atmosphere that makes even a simple evening in Paris memorable.   Each cafe in Paris has its special ambiance and menu. 

Join us as we recreate the food and ambiance of a Paris bistro, right down to French music in the background and waiters in black and white.  Longtime CCKC Instructor, Chef Gary Hild, will take you through beautiful recipes on a step-by-step basis in his easy-going and informative teaching style so that you’ll be able to recreate them at home.

At the heart of French cooking is a deep appreciation for food and the methods of preparation. By the end of the evening, you will know how to prepare a deliciously, simple French meal as you learn Chicken Coq a Vin, a classic dish with a beautiful red wine sauce, and Rice Pilaf,

Next, comes a lesson on Mushroom Duxelle as Chef Gary prepares a Salmon in Puff Pastry with a fresh Basil sauce right before your very eyes. We’ll round out our fantastic meal with Ratatouille, a colorful vegetable dish, and end with an elegant, yet simple, Cherries Jubilee, for dessert.  We hope you’ll join us. Oui Oui!

NOTE:  Unless otherwise noted, each evening class fee includes one glass of beer/wine, with additional beverages available at a nominal cost.
