Cooking From The Farmers’ Market: Fresh Flavors of Summer

It’s the peak of summer and our local farmers are loading their tables and trucks with their homegrown fruits and vegetables to sell at our local farmers’ markets. Anyone who’s shopped at local markets knows how easy it is to be seduced by tables full of colorful, farm-fresh produce. Tonight, experienced culinary instructor and healthy cooking expert ,Tracy Richter, will show you how to make good use of these beautiful vegetables as she focuses on preparing a few of her favorite seasonal recipes. You'll pick up some great cooking methods and techniques along the way too.
Tracy will dish out loads of expert advice on how to use and cook fresh produce, including ways to recognize ripe produce by smells and textures. Our tasty menu includes a fresh Zucchini Tomato Pesto Lasagna (it’s soooo good!), and several more fabulous veggie-rich dishes. When we are done, all you will need to do is take the recipes from today’s class to your favorite farmers’ market, choose your treasures with confidence and then create a beautiful fresh recipe at home.
