Class Description: 

Tonight, we’ll focus on the marvelous Cajun cuisine of New Orleans, and the hearty cooking of Acadiana (or “Cajun country”) right here in the CCKC kitchen. Our own Chef & Lead Instructor Jill Garcia Schmidt is ready to take you down south as she walks you through some of her personal favorite Cajun dishes. Come learn the secrets to making authentic French-Creole food from a real culinary pro and you’ll see (and taste!) for yourself why this unique cuisine is so darn popular.

You’ll help with some of the prep and cooking as Chef shows you how to make savory southern menu starting with a creamy Crawfish Dip. Next up, savory N’Awlin’s-inspired Chowder – it’s soooo darn good!  For our entrée, Chef will dazzle you with great tips for preparing Blackened Shrimp and finally, how ‘bout a classic bourbon-flavored dessert. Ayee! 

NOTE:  Unless otherwise noted, each evening class fee includes one glass of beer/wine, with additional beverages available at a nominal cost.
