Special Foodie Event!  ‘Txakoli KC!” - A Spanish Basque Country Wine Tasting

Class Description: 

Calling all adventurous “foodies!” Join us for a unique culinary foodie event highlighting and celebrating the flavorful Txakoli “summer wines” from the Basque Country of Spain.

Touted as a gastronomic mecca and topping the charts of the world’s best restaurants, this part of the world produces one of the most popular wines styles for summer-Txakoli!  The Txakoli wines range in style and are typically paired with various types of seafood from this coastal region.

Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW), Kerri Lesh, will lead you on a “stay-cation” that will transport and educate you via the unique flavors that the Basque region has to offer. Together, you will explore the history and unique culture of the Basques by tasting several delicious styles of Txakoli alongside “pintxo-style” small bites that are commonly enjoyed in places like Bilbao or San Sebastián. Those in attendance will get to try a special Txakoli along with tinned seafood brought from the Basque Country by Kerri herself. 

There will be an opportunity to “Talk Txak(oli)” and practice your “long pour” from a Bota Bag or into your glass as the Basques do as well as the opportunity to bid on a Basque gift basket of wine and food donated by Kerri, with the proceeds to support Stand With Ukraine KC & Jose Andres' World Central Kitchen.
