Join Chef and Lead Instructor Jill Garcia Schmidt as she demystifies the aromatic world of herbs and spices. She’ll dig deep into her years of culinary experience as she shares pro tips and techniques while covering seasoning basics like determining which spices and herbs work well with certain meats or vegetables (and why!), the endless varieties of herbs and spices; how to toast and grind them; 'fresh vs. dried'; how to make your own seasoning blends (our best friends in a busy kitchen), and so much more.
Chef Jill will also whip up a few simple dishes to demonstrate how easy it is to ‘wing it’ when using herbs and spices. She’s an experienced culinary professional who just can’t help herself when teaching folks how to bring creativity into the kitchen. Bring your questions, ‘cause this is going to be one heck of a must-take class for the novice of the seasoned (yep, we went there) home cook.
