Class Description:

Calling all whiskey-lovers!  Or maybe you just want to learn about whiskey so you can become a lover!  This interesting event with instructor, Kim Stewart, who is herself a lover (and collector) of all things whiskey is just for you.

First of all we’ll talk about the proper spelling of whiskey…or is it whisky?  Kim will enlighten us.  Then you’ll learn about and sample some of Kim’s favorites.   It’s always hard for Kim to choose a favorite bourbon, rye, or scotch but as she says, there is no such thing as a bad whiskey…it’s just that some are better than others.

Today, we’ll learn about bourbons, ryes and scotches and lots more whiskey-focused info.  We’ll get things started with some basic education, like why all bourbon is whiskey, but all whiskey is NOT bourbon. We’ll talk about what makes different types of whiskey unique, including a little bit of hometown Kansas City whiskey history. Of course, we’ll be tasting as we go (duh) and we’ll also have a few light snacks along the way.

Don’t worry if you’ve never explored whiskey before, rookies are welcome! This promises to be a fun and informative class where you’ll learn a lot and leave with confidence you can use your newfound knowledge while hanging out with your whiskey aficionado friends.
