Cooking for One or Two
Demonstration Class | Tasting
Wed 9/21/22 6:30-9:00 p.m.
It can be tricky when cooking for one (or even two) to make the most of your ingredients and to minimize dishes — particularly when majority of recipes focus on making a meal for a family and serve four to six people. Just because you have a smaller household doesn't mean you should eat the same foods over, and over, again. You know who you are!
Enter Chef and Lead Instructor Jill Garcia Schmidt to the rescue. Of course, Chef Jill also cooks for larger crowds here at the Culinary Center, but she’s also highly skilled at cooking smaller portions……..she does it all the time when preparing meals for she and her husband – so she understands the need and has some fabulous recipes to share with you.
She’ll teach essential tips and techniques while teaching the steps to prepare great home-cooked meals designed especially for one or two– using simple, fresh ingredients. Throughout class, Chef Jill will explore other great tips for shopping, freezing and food storage, perking up prepared foods and just plain cooking smaller portions. She’ll also discuss the basic food items you need to keep in your pantry so you can whip up supper at home instead of ordering out. Plus, you’ll leave with all the recipes!
NOTE: Unless otherwise noted, each evening class fee includes one glass of beer/wine, with additional beverages available at a nominal cost.
