Fermenting is all the rage these days, so we’ve called in Chef James Graham, a self-professed ‘fermentation fanatic’, to teach us all about this interesting culinary phenomenon that’s been an important part of traditional diets in Asia and Europe for millennia.
In the U.S. people are realizing how the “magic” of eating fermented foods can help them you feel great and keep your digestive system in tip-top shape. Chef James knows first-hand about quality ingredients and how to use them to make the best “good-for-you” fermented foods.
He’ll start by teaching you the process of making your own Sauerkraut (a superstar of fermented foods), Kimchi (a popular spicy Korean pickled cabbage concoction), Kombucha (a fermented, probiotic tea) as well as other versatile vegetables. You’ll be surprised just how easy fermenting is! Along the way, Chef will explain the basics that will surely inspire you to include fermented foods with all your meals.
Of course, there will be tastings that include fermented vegetables and drinks, plus a chance to try his own hot sauce with peppers that have been fermented for three years! Trust us, this is a class that won’t just open your mind about gut health, it will change the way you look at the foods you serve as everyday meals for optimum health and flavor. Plus, you’ll create your own quart of sauerkraut to finish fermenting at home, in addition to the recipes and confidence to recreate the delicious gems you’ve learned tonight.
