You’re in for a treat today! A sweet baking treat…with award-winning bread-maker Chef Nancy Vendetti. Yup, she won the California Raisin Bread Contest by creating her Italian grandmother’s Golden Raisin Sweet Bread.
Chef Nancy started making this bread when she was 19 years old and she kept making it for years until she got it right. So, when the opportunity arose to enter the bread contest, Nancy added golden raisins to her creation, and a star was born! To top it off, this was her FIRST bread competition where she competed against bakers from national bakeries across the country! Goes to show you…if the recipe is a good one, it stands the test of time AND of competition.
This morning, Chef Nancy will share her tips and essential baking techniques as she walks you through the process to create her award-winning Italian sweet bread. You’ll get to work alongside Chef Nancy and practice these techniques, and, in the end, you’ll walk away with your own ready-to-bake dough to bake off at home for family or friends. Plus, you’ll have the skills, recipes, and confidence you need to recreate this award-winning bread in your own kitchen.
