Let’s take an Indian food journey this evening with culinary instructor Sumana Dey as she shares her love of cooking and Indian cuisine. Tonight, she will teach us how to create dishes from various regions in India plus we will sample India’s one of the most popular desserts.
Known for its aromatic spices and intense flavors, the foods of India present us with the opportunity to expand our palette and learn to cook in ways that will take our home-cooking to new levels.
Sumana will walk us through a popular northern dish of Chicken Kabobs with Mint Chutney and serve it for tasting with Masala Chai Tea. Then we’ll travel to the west with Goan Egg Curry served with Naan bread. Next up is an eastern dish called Bengali Shorshe Maach, a fish curry, which will be served with rice. Andhra-style chicken fry with aromatic Indian spices will be our southern Indian sampling. For a sweet ending to this culinary trip, you’ll taste the beloved popular Indian dessert – Gulab Jamun.
What a night of tantalizing flavors and aromas. You will be able to try this cooking style yourself as you participate in some hands-on cooking during class.
